Starting a Business

KEY QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF

  1. Why do you want a business? To do something you love? Do want to work from home or start a business outside the home. To make ends meet? Improve your lifestyle/family? To get away from a job you hate? The clearer your reasons the more likely you are going to achieve your goal.
  2. Do you plan to work full time or part time? Starting part time is usually safer, but can the business be done during the hours you have available?
  3. Do you want to start a business from scratch or get into an established one?
  4. Do you plan on staying in a field work you know or venture into an unknown field or industry? Venturing into the unknown can be exciting but it also comes with a huge learning curve and you must acquire new skills and or surround yourself with people who have those skills who can teach you.
  5. Are you looking for change or something more enjoyable? It’s important that you enjoy what you do because even if you make a lot of money and hate what you do, it will be hard to enjoy the money or the rewards of it.
